Youth Wellbeing Support Services
Youth Wellbeing Support Workers support children and young people in their families and homes to improve their outcomes and well-being. Youth Wellbeing workers provide outreach and advocacy connecting children and young people with valuable services in the community, providing advocacy when needed, and connecting young people with programs to enhance their lives. Wellbeing workers provide family support and informal counseling to address challenges within the family system and improve family relationships. Wellbeing workers also facilitate groups, such as SNAP ®, the civic engagement program, and other programs at Ifarada.
Youth Wellbeing Support Workers are perfect for children and youth:
- Experience social-emotional and behaviour difficulties at home, in the community, and/or at school.
- Are at higher risk for experiencing challenges at home, community, or school.
- Youth engaged in the criminal justice system or received a diversion in the past year.
- Youth who have come into contact with the police.
- Youth who have had an engagement with human trafficking, street youth, or gang activity.
- Families who are experiencing stress due to children or youth’s behaviour in the home.
Youth Wellbeing Support Workers is a program funded by Public Safety Canada through the youth engagement and intervention program. To learn more about the Youth Engagement and Intervention Program click here.
