Grief and Loss Group for Youth
Program Type: children, group, youth-teens
Loss experienced in childhood can have devastating ramifications in development throughout the lifespan. For that reason, the Grief and Loss Child and Youth group was created.
This eight-session program will run in person in our office with trained professionals, Fridays in September and October. This program is youth-based and will be divided into two age groups 6-10 years old and 11-14 years old. The youth will be guided in narrative and art therapy to assist them in developing healthy coping mechanisms.
The goal of this program is to assist the youth in understanding what grief can look like, how to cope with troubling emotions in healthy ways and also how to process the grieving process of losing someone they cared for.
