Ujima Women’s Leadership Project

Ifarada is committed to advancing equality for women and promoting an end to gender-based violence. As a Black-led, women-led organization, Ifarada is committed to collaborative community engagement and empowerment for its community.  Ifarada works with over 3,000 community members, many of whom are women, Black, or racialized. Ifarada also boasts a diverse staff team of women, who have multiple experiences such as 2SLGBTQiA, Black, racialized, newcomers, Indigenous, and more.

The Ujima Women’s Leadership Project is a proposal developed to create change for women, enhance systemic change, and improve women’s outcomes.

Project Plan

  1. Key Objectives: Project Design April 1-June 30.
    • Design projects, develop operational work plan, recruit partners, establish MOU and partnership agreements, secure sponsors, and develop and design project processes.
    • Involved: executive director, administrative team
    • Resources: Canva, community partners, launch meetings.
  2. Key Objectives: Establish Leadership Team May 1-June 30.
    • Establish hiring criteria, develop job description, establish roles, review responsibilities, provide capacity building training, and support new team members onboarding and learning.
    • Involved: executive director, administrative team
    • Resources: Facebook groups, HR consultant.
  3. Key Objectives: Select cohort 1: June 30-July 31.
    • Outreach to potential participants, discuss project, review registration, establish networking meeting, document and evaluate the first cohort.
